Tarpon fishing is a major part of Capt. Andy Boyette’s guiding history. The spring and summer season brings opportunities in the back bays, along the beaches, around Boca Grande Pass and in Charlotte Harbor.
As fish move through Southwest Florida, the location and approach change with them. Talk with the captain about your dates and whether a beach, pass or harbor trip best fits the fishing at that time.
When to plan your tarpon trip
The original charter information identifies spring through early fall as tarpon season, with May–July a prime booking period. Early-season fishing begins around April as fish arrive in the area. Charlotte Harbor can also offer fall opportunities, although the fish can be less predictable.
A focused day with the captain
Live bait and sight-casting are among the approaches described in Capt. Andy’s fishing information. The day’s technique, start time and location are discussed for your charter. The boat accommodates up to four anglers; larger groups require multiple boats.
Plan ahead for preferred dates and ask which trip duration fits your goals. Bait, tackle, fishing license coverage, ice and water are included.
