One estuary. Several ways to fish it.
Fed from the north by the Peace and Myakka rivers, Charlotte Harbor combines mangrove shorelines, grass flats, islands and deeper water. Capt. Andy Boyette fishes this varied estuary as a central part of his Southwest Florida charter service.
Shallow habitat and deeper tarpon water
The harbor’s range of habitat supports different fishing approaches. Tarpon use deeper holes during their season, with other opportunities including cobia, mackerel, tripletail, ladyfish and bluefish. Target species and fishing areas depend on the day.
Plan from the surrounding communities
Guests visit the harbor from Burnt Store Marina, Cape Coral, Matlacha, Pine Island, Placida, Boca Grande and Englewood. Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte are also part of the service area. Tell the captain where you are staying so the meeting point and fishing plan can be coordinated.
Private charter options
Choose a 6-hour AM or PM trip, an 8-hour trip or a 10-hour trip. Rates are $200 per hour for 1–3 anglers, with a fourth angler an additional $200 per trip. Maximum four anglers per boat.
